Grand Junction at Fruita, Colorado

Grand Junction is well known for the Colorado National Monument just outside town.

While I was there, I was delighted to use a high overlook in the Monument to photograph the Supermoon eclipse:

The other natural attraction is the Arkansas River, which not only wanders through town but can be followed out of Grand Junction to the West all the way to the Curecanti National Recreation area (another gallery in this Colorado section). The river offers the town sites for a number of parks, which I visited to do aerial videos.

This is a fine place to stop when visiting the state.
