Bonneville Dam And Bridge Of The Gods

The best vantage point to fly the Bonneville Dam is on the Washington shore, so I had to cross into Washington State to reach it.

The Bridge of the Gods crossing into Washington State is colorful, and the drive to the vantage point right across from the dam is short. In the third video, you can see that the view from the shore is quite limited and distant. Launching from there with the drone, though gives a far fuller view. There wasn’t much sunlight, I was sorry to see, but we better understand the scale of the dam from aloft. There are a lot of power lines, so I worried about interference with my radio signals. Fortunately, the drone worked perfectly out over the water.

The coast was deserted, and there was even some very faint sunlight. What a view!
