2 Flaming Gorge

Flaming Gorge is a huge area North of Vernal, reaching nearly to the Wyoming border. The Dam backs up the mighty Green River in a vast expanse of colorful hills and canyons.

As one drives North from Vernal, the Dam and Bridge are on the East side of the winding river’s complex lake, Red Canyon on the South side and Sheep Creek on the West.
