This sweeping transition from the high cliffs of the plateau to the slickrock of the Escalante Canyons is a graceful triumph of highway design. It is one of the gems of the Route 12 Scenic Byway and a pleasure to view.

The California wildfire smoke was at most of the sites I flew. Some days were worse than others, and there was no way to avoid the effects.
