Our dreams have been answered in Golden Dawn's 10-day cruises to New Guinea's Coral Sea. Eastern Fields is an oceanic atoll very similar to Australia's famed Osprey Reef; however, it lies over 300 miles North of Osprey but only 86 miles out of Port Moresby.
In fact, these reefs represent a throwback to the glory days of 1972 when I made my very first expeditions into the remote outer Coral Sea. We found diving that has remained among the world's most exciting for over two decades! Those of us who made those long-ago forays are thrilled to bring you to these new atolls. Twenty years from now you will look back with pride that you were among the first divers out here...
For those who have never experienced Coral Sea diving, you have a special trea tin store. One immense pinnacle rises from over 150 feet to nearly reach the surface. As currents sweep over it, its surface is crowded with soft corals, huge fans and incredible numbers of tropical reef fish. But wait, you never dive that part! That is because the crystal-blue water above the reef is filled with immense schools of jacks, barracuda, rainbow runner, and tuna, plus turtles, sharks, 700 pound groupers, potato cod and this is just one dive site! Now known as Carl's Ultimate Reef.
By the way, the last Golden Dawn shark feed attracted 22 silvertip sharks!
To dive these wonders I recommend the 85 foot cruiser Golden Dawn, with five air-conditioned double cabins. Golden Dawn provides clients with spacious comfort and (unlike Australia) truly unlimited diving.
Some of my Australian and New Zealand friends tell me they consider Eastern Fields the Jewel in the Crown of South Pacific diving. Contact me for your cruise aboard Golden Dawn and be among the first to see this new wonder of the Coral Sea. Group charters available.
